Top of the Line Barber School now has federal financial aid available for students.
Federal Pell Grant
Federal Pell grants are awarded to students who qualify, based on need, to contribute to a student’s tuition and possibly tools, supplies, and books for the school. FEDERAL PELL GRANTS DO NOT HAVE TO BE REPAID (if the program is completed)
Direct Subsidized Loans
Subsidized loans are available to help contribute to students tuition, tools, and books. Subsidized loans DO NOT gain interest while the student is enrolled in the program. This is awarded based on financial need. Repayment on subsidized loans begins SIX MONTHS AFTER A STUDENT SEPARATES FROM THE SCHOOL WHETHER IT BE GRADUATION OR WITHDRAWAL from the program.
Direct Unsubsidized Loans
Unsubsidized loans are available to help contribute to students tuition, tools, and books. Unsubsidized loans do gain interest while the student is enrolled in the program. Repayment on unsubsidized loans begins SIX MONTHS AFTER A STUDENT SEPARATES FROM THE SCHOOL WHETHER IT BE GRADUATION OR WITHDRAWAL from the program.
Direct Parent Plus Loans
PLUS Loans are available to support dependent students. If the student is eligible, the funds can be applied toward tuition, required tools, books, and any remaining balance on the student’s account. A parent or legal guardian must complete the application on behalf of the student.
Veterans Affairs Education and Training Benefits
Educational benefits for students are available for people who are eligible for veterans benefits. Students can apply for benefits at www.gibill.va.gov or you may call 1-888-442-4551. Students must receive a copy of their Certificate of Eligibility.
Texas Workforce Commission - Vocational Rehabilitation Program
TWC-VR is available to help students with disabilities prepare for, obtain, retain or advance in employment. They help adults with disabilities of all ages. They also help young students with disabilities prepare for life after school. The program also assists businesses in hiring and supporting employees with disabilities.

Institutional Scholarship
Top of the Line Barber School has a scholarship program available for students who are not able to cover the full cost of tuition. This scholarship can be up to $3000.

Applying for Financial Aid

How To Apply
- Go to https://studentaid.gov/ and hover over the drop down menu that says, “Apply for Aid” and click “Complete the FAFSA Form”.
- From there, either log in to your existing account if you have one, or click “Start Here” to create a new account
- Click “I am a student and want access to the FAFSA form.”
- Click the latest application then click “Start a new FAFSA form”
- From there you will be requested to make a save key. This key allows you to resume your application in case you do not finish the application at one time.
- From here read through the questions until you get to the bottom of the page and click continue
- You are now at the application. Please fill it out to the best of your ability with accurate and verifiable information to make your process time quicker.
- Please allow the school to know when you submit the application. Keep in mind it will take a minimum of 2 business days before the school will receive the form.
